Amigurumi Crochet Tutorial: La retro-maglia bassissima (rmbs) - The retro-slip stitch (rsl st)

La lavorazione in tondo all'uncinetto prevede che alla fine di ogni giro, venga eseguita una maglia bassissima di chiusura seguita da una catenella di alzata.
Dopo aver eseguito diversi giri, si forma una specie di "cicatrice" in corrispondenza delle maglie bassissime lavorate alla fine di ogni giro; questo segno rovina l'aspetto pulito e compatto dell'amigurumi tanto da portare molte persone a scegliere di lavorare a spirale (senza punti di chiusura del giro) anche quando lo schema prevede una lavorazione in tondo.
In alcuni casi però non si può rinunciare alla lavorazione in tondo, perché tale metodo consente di ottenere una simmetria necessaria perché l'amigurumi sia perfetto nella sua realizzazione.

When you work in round, you know that at the end of every round you have to work a slip stitch and then a chain.
After working many rounds, it forms a kind of "scar" due to the slip stitches; many people dislike this "scar" so decides to work in spiral even if the pattern recommends to work in round.
But in some cases, however, you can not give up working in the round, beacause this method ensures the necessary symmetry of the amigurumi's shape.

Usando invece il nuovo punto che ho ideato, la retro-maglia bassissima (abbr.: rmbs), la "cicatrice" ha un aspetto migliore ed è meno visibile e il lavoro nel suo complesso appare più lineare e ordinato: quindi alla fine di ogni giro si esegue una retro-maglia bassissima e successivamente si lavora una catenella rovesciata.
"Retro" è una parola latina che significa "dietro", e l'ho scelta per indicare che l'uncinetto va inserito da dietro nella maglia sottostante invece che da davanti come si usa fare abitualmente.

Instead using the new stitch that I designed, the retro-slip stitch (abbr.: rsl st), the "scar" looks better and is less visible and the work as a whole appears to be more linear and orderly: then at the end of each round work a retro-slip stitch and then work a reversed chain.
"Retro" is a Latin word which means "behind, back", and I chose it to indicate that the hook is inserted from the back in the stitch below rather than from the front as you do normally.

Amigurumi Crochet Tutorial: La maglia bassa rovesciata (rvmb) - The reversed single crochet (rvsc)

Quando si lavora per righe all'uncinetto, si ottiene un'alternanza di diritto e rovescio dovuta al fatto che alla fine di ogni riga bisogna girare il lavoro.
La maglia bassa rovesciata (abbr.: rvmb) consente di avere un lato interamente diritto e uno interamente a rovescio: essa viene lavorata quando si esegue una riga dal lato del rovescio.
Questo punto è particolarmente utile quando si lavorano degli amigurumi che prevedono parti lavorate per righe: in tal modo l'aspetto finale avrà una trama lineare e uniforme.

When you work in rows, you obtain an alternation of right and reverse sides, beacause you turn your work at the end of each row.
The reversed single crochet (abbr.: rvsc) allows you to have an entirely right side and an entirely reverse side: this stitch is used when you work a row from the reverse side.
This stitch is particulary useful when you make an amigurumi that has parts to be worked in rows: with this new method, the shape will have a linear and uniform look.

Amigurumi Crochet Tutorial: La catenella rovesciata (rvcat.) - The reversed chain (rvch.)

La catenella rovesciata (abbr.: rvcat.) è un punto che va utilizzato quando si eseguono lavori all'uncinetto che prevedono l'impiego di punti quali:
-la retro-maglia bassissima
-la retro-maglia bassa
-la maglia bassa rovesciata

The reversed chain (abbr.: rvch.) is a stitch that you can use when you work with the following stitches:
-the retro-slip stitch
-the retro-single crochet
-the reversed single crochet

Tali punti, per il modo in cui sono lavorati, hanno la caratteristica di cambiare la posizione del filo che scorre sull'uncinetto, facendolo passare da dietro a davanti: per evitare che il filo si attorcigli, è meglio usare la catenella rovesciata invece di quella "classica". L'ho chiamata "rovesciata" in quanto bisogna avvolgere il filo sull'uncinetto al contrario rispetto al metodo classico.

This stitches, for the method of working, have the property of changing the position of the thread that slides on the crochet hook, passing it from the back to the front; to prevent the thread from twisting, it's better to use the reversed chain instead of the "classic" chain. I called it "reversed" beacuse it needs to wrap the thread around the crochet hook in a reversed way respect to the classic method.

Amigurumi Crochet Tutorial: Nuovi punti - New stitches

Durante le ultime settimane appena trascorse, ho speso il mio tempo libero per studiare nuove soluzioni a "vecchi" problemi con la lavorazione degli amigurumi all'uncinetto.
La necessità di trovare nuove strade è sorta durante la stesura di un pattern; dopo molte ricerche su internet andate a vuoto, ho inventato dei punti nuovi che cercherò di spiegarvi pubblicando una piccola serie di post dedicata a ciascuno di essi, avvalendomi dell'aiuto di video-tutorial realizzati appositamente da me: in questo modo il supporto video sopperisce alla possibile mancanza di chiarezza derivante dalle sole spiegazioni testuali o fotografiche.

During the last past weeks, I spent my free time to study new solutions for "old" problems with the working of amigurumi. 
The need to find new ways came during the writing of a pattern; after much searching with no results, I decided "to do it myself": I have created new stitches that I will try to explain to you with some video-tutorials made by me.

Quando si lavora un amigurumi all'uncinetto e si desidera "piegare" il lavoro in modo che esso cambi direzione, si esegue un giro di maglie basse lavorate in costa dietro. Ciò avviene ad esempio con gli amigurumi che hanno una base circolare e forma cilindrica.

When you work an amigurumi and you want to "fold" the shape so that it changes direction of working, you work a round of single crochet in back loop. This happens for example with the amigurumi which have a circular base and a cylindrical shape.

In alcuni casi trovo che la lavorazione in costa dietro sia poco precisa e desidero che la piega del lavoro abbia un aspetto più compatto e definito: a seconda dell'effetto che voglio ottenere, a volte scelgo di sostituire la lavorazione in costa con un giro di retro-maglie basse.
La retro-maglia bassa (abbr.: rmb) è uno dei punti che ideato e ha la proprietà di creare un angolo di 90° in maniera piuttosto precisa. Ecco un esempio:

In some cases I think that the working in back loop isn't quite accurate and I want that the fold of the shape has a more compact and defined look, so I choose to work a round with the retro-single crochet instead of using the single crochet in back loop.
